Normally the lines wrap depending on screen width. But, in United States at the 2012 Summer Olympics, each continent has only one line, and the longest lines are about three screens wide. Why does that occur? That was the first time I saw that happen. I have used the template in Germany's, France's, Italy's, Spain's and Australia's pages at least, and the wrap was okay with them. 85.217.39.114 (talk) 02:42, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Israel - European nation?

[edit]

I thought Israel was a country in Asia, not Europe, what am I missing here? Jørgen88 (talk) 21:47, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

It is a member of the European Olympic Association for political reasons. In the same way it is a member of UEFA for Association Football. Sport and politics (talk) 23:57, 9 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, but the group in the template is not "EAA" or "European Athletic Association" (not even European Olympic Association which you mentioned), but Europe. Israel belongs in those associations, but not in Europe. 85.217.46.150 (talk) 01:26, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Israel does not compete in the Asian games and competes in for example the European Athletics championships so placing it in the "European" section is by far the most appropriate. Israel is also a member of Badminton Europe, FIBA Europe, the European Cycling Union and the European Hockey Federation to name but a few. Sport and politics (talk) 01:35, 10 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]
But why is Australia then in Oceania? They belong to Asian federation at least in football (soccer) and volleyball. 85.217.15.248 (talk) 23:20, 13 August 2012 (UTC)[reply]

There is nothing about "European Olympic Association", "UEFA", "Asian games", "European Athletics championships", ""Badminton Europe", "FIBA Europe", "European Cycling Union", "European Hockey Federation", which you all mentioned, in the template. There only reads "Africa", "Americas", "Asia", "Europe", "Oceania" and "Others" as the group names. So, Cyprus and Israel should be listed under Asia. Or, an explanation given why they are not in the geographically right continent. 85.76.79.164 (talk) 15:45, 11 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
