[edit]What is with the "did not exist" section??? Does that mean that there was no 'era name'. Maybe that part should be removed from the table? Astrokey44 02:43, 11 November 2005 (UTC)
linguistic affinity
[edit]The Tuoba (Tabgach) language was in fact Mongolic, probably best termed Para-Mongolic (cf. Janhunen 2003). Although the language seems to have had some Turkic elements with certain official titles, what we know of the basic lexical items shows it was a language related to Mongolic. -Andrew
Whats the difference with TOUBA AND TABGACH???? Can anyone say answer? To-ba=Chinese Tabgaç=Turki like a Mo-tun(chinese)=METE in Turkic. And Their origin not only Mongol TURKS(HUNS),MOGOL and TUNGUSİC people.... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.230.105.234 (talk) 13:49, 7 March 2008 (UTC)
But isn't the ancient pronunciation for Tuoba thak-bwat? How come it's identified with Taugast... 129.199.129.23 (talk) 10:45, 6 June 2008 (UTC)
Merger
[edit]Why isn't this merged with Tabgach?--Joostik (talk) 18:47, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
- It should be. White Whirlwind 咨 17:55, 5 December 2011 (UTC)
- Agreed —Firespeaker (talk) 04:46, 7 July 2012 (UTC)
- So I merged it, but I kind of feel like the main page should be Tabgach instead of the sinicised version.
Descendants
[edit]There should be a section on modern day descendants. I will try Juicebaby (talk) 08:16, 24 February 2016 (UTC)
- It is hard to know for sure since the N. Wei dynasty ended more than a millenium ago. However my guess is anyone surnamed Yuan (元) today is likely to be a descendant of the clan, since imperial clans always multiply really fast. Zhieaanm (talk) 08:39, 6 April 2016 (UTC)

it is the same person who is ALWAYS edits anything with Turkic origins and rejects any other theories that is non-Turkic. He pro-Turkic nationalist and biasly edit everything as having pro Turkic origin and tried to edit Northern wei as Turkic dynasty, Xianbei and it's people as Turkic but reject every other theories and doesn't allow anything that is different to it. He still does this despite his edits being removed many times he uses different ip address to keep editing Turkic origins for everything he wants. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.158.192.16 (talk) 18:07, 26 November 2018 (UTC)
