The result of the move request was: Not moved. Jafeluv (talk) 14:49, 28 January 2010 (UTC)
- The initial creater of this article did not use the correct German spelling bender235 (talk) 14:54, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
- This will probably warrant discussion. Is his name primarily rendered in English with the eszet? For instance, Britannica doesn't use it. Parsecboy (talk) 15:13, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose This is the English Wikipedia, not German, so we use English spellings. TJ Spyke 21:20, 22 January 2010 (UTC)
- That's not a valid reason to oppose the move. We follow English usage; if the man is primarily referred to in English language sources with the eszet, then we should use it too. I doubt this is the case, but we should still consider the evidence. Parsecboy (talk) 03:15, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose This is not the German Wikipedia, proper German spelling has nothing to do with English. Therefore no valid rationale for moving the article has been presented. 76.66.192.206 (talk) 05:36, 23 January 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose - WP:UE is unambiguous on this. 81.111.114.131 (talk) 23:49, 26 January 2010 (UTC)
- Oppose - per WP:UE. Pretty straight forward.oknazevad (talk) 02:41, 28 January 2010 (UTC)

Minister of War
[edit]At least two sources (Geßler's Encyclopaedia Britannica article (https://www.britannica.com/biography/Gessler-Otto), and a book I'm reading by JCG Rohl (from the University of Sussex) called 'From Bismarck to Hitler' (p. 105) state that Geßler was a Minister of WAR, not a Minister of Defence. Unless I (and the aforementioned sources) am mistaken, the article should probably be changed to reflect that. I'd do it myself but I'm too lazy, it's a wonder I can even put in the effort to breathe. 95.150.85.35 (talk) 09:53, 3 August 2023 (UTC)
