Philippine mining operations
[edit]Since this is a stub, I added this to expand: The Philippine Court of Appeals on June 11, 2008 issued a 60 days temporary restraining order preventing Nueva Vizcaya “from acting on a cease and desist order issued by Governor Luisa Cuaresma against Oceanagold (after it refused to pay P 30 million ($ 680,000) quarry permit).” OceanaGold invested $ 200 million to develop its Didipio Gold-Copper Mining Project in Didipio, Nueva Vizcaya. The mine would produce 120,000 ounces of gold and 15,000 tonnes of copper concentrate a year in the first 10 years of production with a minimum life of 15 years.reuters.com, Philippine court rules in favour of Oceanagoldbusiness.inquirer.net, Court rules in favor of OceanagoldEnvironmental groups led by Kalikasan-PNE (People’s Network for the Environment) however, criticized the appeals court Order: “the entry of OceanaGold is the root cause of tension and violence among Ifugao communities in Dipidio.”gmanews.tv, Group denounces order allowing resumption of Nueva Vizcaya mining--Florentino floro (talk) 08:52, 11 June 2008 (UTC)
COI?
[edit]I've reverted this IP multiple times (see this diff). Something tell me that this IP has a COI with this article. Instead of reverting again, I'm posting here to ask for input from the community. If I'm wrong, please let me know. ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 06:53, 10 June 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you, Oshwah, agree that this new editor, unwilling to abide by WP:BRD, unwilling to discuss, looks like having a COI. 3RR violation should be reported to get IP blocked. If I wasnt on my way home to the US I would do it. maybe Jonpatterns can help? otherwise request admin help.--Wuerzele (talk) 07:44, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
- @Oshwah and Wuerzele: Thanks for the heads up. No further reverting today. Will keep an eye on the article - it has a history of COI reverts. Added some more references. Could do with further copy editing. : -) Jonpatterns (talk) 21:17, 11 June 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, Wuerzele and Jonpatterns. It's a pleasure to meet both of you. Thank you for responding and keeping an eye out on this article. I figured that my thoughts were correct, but I wanted to avoid getting into an edit war, and hence I posted my findings here. It looks like the edits from that IP has stopped, but I'll keep one eye open just in case :-) ~Oshwah~ (talk) (contribs) 06:50, 12 June 2015 (UTC)

I've added a comment on the IP user's talkpage not to edit war. If behaviour persist I will request a block.Jonpatterns (talk) 10:38, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
- 119.225.18.98, I had added a welcome notice to your talkpage containing the WP:guidelines, since you do not appear to know how wikipedia works. please read about the 5 pillars. By merely removing content and making one way statements so far in edit summaries you are not acting collaboratively. invoking "someone at WP" sounds like you are addressing employees of WP. but we are not, we are all volunteers and dont know each other, other than through our edits here.
- In this edit you identified yourself as a member of the company, so the WP:FINANCIALCOI rule applies. I quote:
- If you are receiving, or expect to receive, monetary or other benefits or considerations from editing Wikipedia as a representative of an organization (as owner, officer, employee, contractor or other stakeholder; or as employee or contractor of a firm hired by that organization for public-relations purposes), then you are very strongly discouraged from editing affected articles where those external relationships could reasonably be said to undermine your ability to remain neutral.
- You may use the article talk pages (visit the article in question—then click the 'talk' button at the top of the page) to suggest changes, or the {{request edit}} template to request edits (see WP:TEAHOUSE if you have questions about these things). You should provide full disclosure of your connection, when using talkpages, making edit requests, and similar. Requested edits are subject to the same editorial standards as any other edit, and other editors may decline to act on them. --Wuerzele (talk) 12:32, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
