[edit]

Multala was elected to Vantaa City Council in 2012 representing National Coalition Party.[9] She was elected to the Parliament of Finland for the first time in the 2015 parliamentary elections and was re-elected in 2019.[10][11] Since 2017 she has served as Chair of City Board in Vantaa.[12]

In June 2023, she was appointed Minister of Science and Culture in the Orpo Cabinet.[13] On 24 January 2025 she was appointed Minister of the Environment and Climate Change, replacing Kai Mykkänen who was elected Mayor of Espoo in October 2024.[14] She immediately received criticism for her appointment from the Green League for failing to address climate challenges when asked about logging.[15]
