Crock of Gold: A Few Rounds with Shane MacGowan is a 2020 documentary film about the life of Shane MacGowan. The film was written and directed by Julien Temple and produced by Johnny Depp.[1][2][3]

The world premiere of the documentary was on September 20, 2020 at the 68th San Sebastián International Film Festival[4][5][6] where it was nominated for the Golden Shell award for Best Film[7][8] and won the runner-up "Special Jury Prize".[9][10][11] It was also nominated for Best Music Documentary at the 2020 5th Critics' Choice Documentary Awards and 2020 36th International Documentary Association Awards.[7][12][13]

Magnolia Pictures acquired the North American distribution rights.[5] The North American premiere was on November 11, 2020 at DOC NYC which was followed by Magnolia Pictures presenting a special theatrical event in the U.S. on December 1, 2020 before its general release on December 4, 2020.[1][14] The film played in theaters around the U.S. but not in New York City due to the city’s COVID shutdown of cinemas. IFC Center presented the first New York theatrical screenings from December 25 to December 26, 2023 as a tribute to the late Shane MacGowan on what would have been his 66th birthday.[15] The film was released by Wildcard Distribution in cinemas in Ireland on December 4, 2020[10][1] and was released by Altitude Films on-demand and on DVD in the U.K. and Ireland on December 7, 2020.[16] BBC4 broadcast the film on March 16, 2021.[17][18]
