History
[edit]On 7 July 1864 the boathouse and nine boats were destroyed by fire causing £300 worth of damage (a considerable sum at the time).[2]
Bann has had success at producing Olympic oarsmen; Alan Campbell won a bronze medal in the men's single scull at the 2012 Summer Olympics. At the same Olympics, Richard Chambers and Peter Chambers both won a silver medal in the lightweight men's four.[3][4]
