Invitation to participate in a research
editHello,
The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.
You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.
The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .
Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind Regards,
Women in Red November 2024

Hello, GPL93,
Don't mark a page as being CSD G1, as incoherent or gibberish, just because it is in a different language other than English. It is completely coherent if you use Google Translate and I encourage you to install this extension on your browser if you use Chrome. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 00:32, 2 November 2024 (UTC)
- Please lay off the CSD button in draftspace and userspace in general - this is really, really bitey to new users, especially when you're tagging their sandboxes, which are explicitly there for them to use to muck around. -- asilvering (talk) 22:32, 3 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Liz: That was botched on my end. IDK why but I misread does not cover as covers when I first read WP:G1. I should have draftified this article in hindsight. Best, GPL93 (talk) 18:37, 6 November 2024 (UTC)
The article Ricardo Genovés has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
non notable minor league baseball player
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Spanneraol (talk) 19:58, 7 November 2024 (UTC)

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message
editHello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}}
to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:40, 19 November 2024 (UTC)

Kon Knueppel name
editHi GPL93,
How is Kon saying his middle name is "II" on a podcast not a reliable source?
Thanks, Colt22123 Colt22123 (talk) 01:03, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- Please read WP:RS. Best, GPL93 (talk) 13:32, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- On players who actually use the "II" suffix, Duke basketball's official roster website (https://goduke.com/sports/mens-basketball/roster/2024-25) buts the "II" after their names (such as on Patrick Ngongba II or Derick Lively II). Kon, however, has his name listed as "Kon Knueppel." Should've we then omit the "II" on his Wikipedia page?
- Thanks, Colt22123 (talk) 15:56, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- Additionally,
- There a source used on this page (https://madison.com/watching-the-son-rise/article_077d07d3-dbfc-53ef-a553-e29f9177fec4.html) mentions his middle name being the roman numerals "II". Shouldn't we not have contradicting sources?
- Thanks, Colt22123 (talk) 16:06, 29 November 2024 (UTC)
- I stand corrected! Looking through the edit history, it does look like a family member corrected it to Kon II a while ago (it was reverted because it was part of a bunch of unsourced additions). I did a search with "Kon II" as one keyword and was able to find an RS for it (as did you, darn edit conflicting) so I switched it out. Usually in these situations where naming, birthplace, etc are not clear or have conflicting information I lean towards just waiting towards draft season when players have to fill out paperwork with all this information.
