The Eldridge Park Carousel Preservation Society, Inc. is dedicated to preserving the past, while continually enhancing Eldridge Park for the enjoyment of residents and visitors across the community.

In 2006, the Eldridge Park Carousel Preservation Society restored the historic Eldridge Park carousel. Since then, the preservation society has worked tirelessly to add new attractions and keep the Eldridge Park tradition alive. What you see now is a mix of old and new: a walking park, an amusement park, and a little spin of our own to make the experience unique and full of excitement.

A Park for All Seasons

Hours

The park is open to the public all year round from dawn to dusk for exercise and relaxation.

The amusement park operates from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day.

  • Thursdays 5:00-9:00pm (Starting 6/20/24)
  • Fridays 5:00-9:00pm
  • Saturdays 12:00-9:00pm
  • Sundays 12:00-8:00pm
  • Select Weekday Holidays 12:00-8:00pm

Special events may take place on other dates, and will be shown in our Events Calendar.

 

Tickets

Tickets for the rides and mini-golf are available at the shop inside the carousel building. 

Tickets cost $1.50 each.

1 Ticket Attractions: Carousel, Pony Carts, Turtle Chase, Kiddie Boats, and Mini Train.

2 Ticket Attractions: Thunderbirds, Tilt-a-whirl, Paddle Boats, and Jasper Tour Boat. 

Miniature golf is 4 tickets for ages 12+ and 3 tickets for ages 11 and under.

Disc Golf Rentals: To rent a Disc Golf Set, it is $5 + $5 deposit ($10 total).

Family-Friendly Fun in Elmira, NY

This 1890s Looff carousel was originally brought to Eldridge Park in 1924 by Bob Long. In the late 1980s, the carousel was dismantled and the animals were sold off at auction, leaving only the motor behind. Through the efforts of the Eldridge Park Carousel Preservation Society, this majestic ride was restored and reopened in 2006. It is one of the few remaining carousels in the world with a working ring feeder.

The Jasper Paddle Boats were then introduced to Eldridge Park in the summer of 2009. They provide a peaceful ride on the Eldridge Lake where you can enjoy the views and wildlife.

Native American myth tells of a sea serpent named Gaspara that guards the deep channels of Lake Minnetonka (what we now know as Eldridge Lake). The Jasper motor boat was built in the early 20th century, complete with a carved dragon head, as a tribute to this mythical beast. Unfortunately, after continued use, the original Jasper boat had to be decommissioned. In 2008, the legend was resurrected when the park introduced the Jasper II all-electric motor boat. Listen closely and you can hear his roar!

In 2013, the Pony Carts returned to the park to take a prominent place just across the creek from the Thunderbirds. They are sure to entertain the smallest of us for generations to come!

The Nine-Hole Disc Golf Course is free for public use everyday during daylight hours. Disc rentals are available at our gift shop during our business hours.
