October Retreat and Halloween

In October some friends and I went out of town for a fantastic retreat!  We got an airbnb.  Make it a slumber party too, and you have the BEST TIME EVER!

The quilt show had a glow in the dark display.   I LOVE house quilts, and look at the fun quilting on this one, all done in glow-in-the-dark thread.

We each wore matching t-shirts each day from previous retreats we have attended.

A friend of mine designed this bag.  I am making some for my grand boys for Christmas.  The vinyl mesh is perfect for dirty shoes or wet swim wear.  I think my little men will like being able to see their toys inside.

Most of us purchased this quilt kit.  I was IN LOVE!!!

October teacher dress up - check out our signs...  WE HEAR THE SAME THINGS ALL DAY LONG...

The family went motorcycling.  We had a big dinner together and let the littles trick or treat to the campers in our group.  It was a blast!

A train of little cars all hooked together and pulled behind the 4-wheeler.

My honey and  I were hill billies.

A little update...

Still sewing daily, just not for long periods of time.  I have been missing you all and missing your blog stories.  I am trying to get caught up on things at work so I can play more, but my kiddos just take priority some times.

Duck Duck Goose!  These quilt blocks are for a new grand baby arriving in a few weeks.  It needs some hand embroidery, blanket stitching, and assembly.

I finished up my round robin blocks for the year and should be getting mine back in return soon.

My witch quilt is getting close.  I need to make the cat section and another star section that goes above the cat.  Here is the end of the broom.

This shows the part that is ready and waiting for all the the units on the left to be completed.  I love this quilt and have loved making it a little at a time with friends.

Here are a couple of my friends who made it also...

I have been cutting out bags for Christmas gifts.  I know the photos are not that much to look at, but they show that I am doing something.

I finished my Catch All Caddie - love it!

I told myself to sew one row together each night about a week ago.  Well, only one row got together.  Matching those seams is NOT FUN!

I am trying to cut out bags for each of my girls for Christmas.  I think they need a Diddles bag like mine.  I plan to make tiny little pinwheels in a row on the front - cute cute!

Quilted Photos

2. Celestial Star Quilt (finish the top)   It is quilted and bound.

3. Disney Princess Blocks (progress) TWO BLOCKS PIECED.

Two princesses completed...

4. Start Cross My Heart Quilt (finished!)  and cut out chicken panel quilt (NOPE)

Cross My Heart is completely done!

Since some group members organized to do a panel quilt, and I happen to have a few pieces already cut, I may as well do this too.  I figure I might not get to it without support from others.  Goal is to get the rest of it cut out.

5. Kiwi bird blocks - here are the blocks and the lady who inspired the NZ theme .  She shared them with us on zoom.

6. Chooky's Scrub Stitchin' Bag (start and finish)  It is done.

7. Chevron Round Robin (quilt top done) NOPE, BUT PROGRESS WAS MADE.

Trimmed Blocks with one missing.
Rows are mostly sewn together now.

8. Gingerbread House Embroidery (progress) YES, BUT VERY LITTLE

I could literally count the stitches.  This was a low progress month for sure, but progress it is.

9. Start Pineapple Tula Pink quilt - (quilt top done)  QUILTED AND BOUND!

This is how the back turned out.

10. Me Without You (quilt top done)
