Officer Knight was a police officer who was Greg the Dog's best friend. As of his brain death, which was due to an explosion, he is the source of Dog Man's body from the neck down. His head was cut off so Greg the Dog's head could be sewed to his neck to create Dog Man.

Officer Knight's first appearance, along with Greg the Dog in Dog Man
In Dog Man, Chief buys a new couch online, with Luke and Andrew delivering it. When Chief got to his office to lay on it, Officer Knight and Greg were laying on it. Chief fussed at them and fired them.
Then, walking to retirement, they hear "Help, it's a bomb!" from Petey.
Officer Knight and Greg ran to defuse the bomb. Officer Knight asks Greg, "Which wire should I cut?"
Greg growls, which Knight interprets as Greg telling him to cut the green wire. He then cuts the wire and the bomb explodes, causing Officer Knight to say, "Oh no! I forgot [that] dogs are colored blind!"
They were taken to the hospital where a doctor said Greg's body was dying and Officer Knight's head was dying. Then Nurse Lady said that they should sew Greg's head onto Knight's body. And so they unleashed Dog Man to the city.
Trivia[]
- Officer Knight had his head taken off, so he is brain dead. However, since clinical death is caused by the stopping of one's heart and lungs, Officer Knight is still clinically alive.
- Officer Knight only physically appeared in the first book, though he appears in the introductions of the rest of the Dog Man books up until Dog Man: Grime and Punishment.
