Roger Douglas Bart is an American actor, voice actor, and singer. For Disney, he provided the singing voices of Hercules in the film of the same name and Scamp in Lady and the Tramp II. He also played George Williams in Desperate Housewives, Leo Mason Treadwell in Revenge, Ethen Kendrick in the ABC Studios TV show Perception, a Dance Teacher in Jessie, and James Hartley in How to Build a Better Boy. He also appeared in the Freeform show Good Trouble as Judge Wilson. In Disney theater productions, he portrayed Jonathan in King David and Hades in an Off-Broadway production of Hercules.
Bart was born in Norwalk, Connecticut and graduated from Bernards High School in 1980 before earning his BFA in Acting from Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers in New Jersey. He was close friends with Jonathan Larson and both worked as waiters between theater jobs including early presentations of Larson's Tick, Tick... Boom!. Bart made his Broadway debut in Big River which led to roles in You're a Good Man Charlie Brown (winning a Tony Award), Young Frankenstein, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Triumph of Love, Annie, Back to the Future: The Musical, and as Carman Ghia in The Producers, a role he reprised for the 2005 film adaptation. His other film credits include The Stepford Wives (2004), Hostel: Part II, American Gangster, Spy School, Harold & Kumar Escape from Guantanamo Bay, Trumbo, and Tick, Tick... Boom! (2021).
In television, he appeared in The George Carlin Show, Desperate Housewives, Revenge, Episodes, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, CSI: Miami, Grimm, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, Scream Queens, No Tomorrow, Graves, Grace and Frankie, and The Blacklist.
