Patrick David Barr was a British film and television actor. His only Disney roles were King Richard in The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men and Lord Boyne in the three-part Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color episode "The Secret of Boyne Castle".
Born in Akola, British India in 1908, Barr was educated at Radley College and Trinity College, Oxford. Beginning his career on stage, Barr soon transitioned to film with Meet My Sister, Midnight at Madame Tussaud's, The Cavalier of the Streets, Return of the Scarlet Pimpernel, and The Case of the Frightened Lady before World War II stalled his career. Barr helped people in the Blitz before serving with the Friends Ambulance Unit in Africa. After the war, Barr returned to acting.
His further film credits included The Blue Lagoon, Golden Arrow, The Dam Busters, Room in the House, Saint Joan, Next to Next Time, The Longest Day, King of the Underworld, Murder at Scotland Yard, Billy Liar, The First Great Train Robbery, The Valiant, The Flesh and Blood Show, The Satanic Rites of Dracula, and Octopussy.
On television, he appeared in Late of Scotland Yard, Doctor Who, The Moonbase, Randall & Hopkirk, and The Avengers. In the 1981 BBC Radio 4 adaptation of The Lord of the Rings, he voiced the role of Gamling.
He passed away on August 29, 1985.
