Kirk Thomas Cameron is an American actor, evangelist, television and documentary host, and producer, who, for Disney, appeared in Beyond Witch Mountain, the television show Herbie, the Love Bug, the television remake of The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes, and the Disney Channel Original Movie You Lucky Dog.
Cameron was born in Panorama City, a neighborhood in the San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. He began acting at age nine and though commercials before gaining a breakthrough with the role of Mike Seaver on the ABC sitcom Growing Pains. Cameron attended school on the set but went to some classes at Chatsworth High School during production breaks and graduated with honors in 1988. He would also appear other in television shows such as Two Marriages, Full House, Kirk, Touched by an Angel, Family Law, and Fuller House. He also appeared in films, such as The Best of Times, Like Father Like Son, Fireproof, and portrayed Buck Williams in the 2001 adaptation of Left Behind, as well as its two sequels.
Outside of acting, Cameron has since become a born-again Christian and began a ministry of his own. He hosts the show The Way of the Master and has produced faith-based works in film and literature as well as co-founded The Firefly Foundation with his wife, Chelsea Noble, which works to give terminally ill children and their families a free week's vacation in a summer camp setting.
