Kaitlyn Jenea Cecil, better known as Katie Cecil, is an American television actress and formerly guitarist/vocalist for the teen power pop/rock band KSM.
Biography[]
Katie Cecil was born in Wheeling, West Virginia and spent most of her childhood in Weddington, North Carolina. After showing early talents, she did regional acting and modeling in Charlotte, North Carolina and Atlanta, Georgia. By age 10, Cecil attracted notice from talent agents in New York and Los Angeles, California. She was booked in an as-yet unreleased feature film entitled Serial with writer/director Kevin Arbouet, whose prior projects include Monster's Ball. Cecil began commuting to Los Angeles and appeared in an untitled comedy pilot starring Camryn Manheim. She has since gained small roles in the TV series Medium, Criminal Minds, and Help Me Help You.
In 2006, Cecil auditioned for an all-girl teen pop band to be mentored by The Go-Go's, and was selected as rhythm guitarist and backing vocalist. The band was signed to Walt Disney Records (part of the Disney Music Group) and was originally called the Po-Go's, but later became the rock band KSM. KSM released the album Read Between the Lines in September 2009, before splitting in August 2010.
