Crazy Mountain Brewing Departs Edwards

An 8-year-old Colorado brewery has outgrown its original Edwards location and closed suddenly with plans to relocate by late summer. Crazy Mountain Brewing Company, with three taprooms around Denver and one more on the way in Winter Park, on Wednesday announced the closing of its flagship brewery at 439 Edwards Access Road.

“While it’s bittersweet to be leaving our first home in Edwards ... we’re very excited about the opportunities that our growth has created,” owner Kevin Selvy said in a release. “Being able to stay in the Valley, while having space to continue that growth and expansion, is extremely important to us.” The company hasn’t announced its next Vail Valley location yet, but the space will serve as the brewery’s new headquarters with a larger brewhouse and taproom and a beer garden.

Crazy Mountain boasts the title of first production brewery in Eagle County. The company has focused on growth and in 2016 moved most of its operations to the former Breckenridge Brewing space at 471 Kalamath Street in Denver, while keeping the Edwards brewhouse solely for reserve beers production. Crazy Mountain now distributes cans, bottles, and draft beers to 27 states and 11 countries.
