The Mosaic District in Northern Virginia is getting a new spot to double-fist an ax and beer in August.
Bad Axe, “the world’s biggest urban axe throwing club,” started in Canada, and now has locations in dozens of U.S. cities, including one in Northeast (2419 Evarts Street NE).
The new 4,600-square-foot location will serve beer and wine (no food) and sit in the heart of the growing development at 2985 District Avenue in Fairfax.
Bad Axe will host competitive leagues, birthday parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, and corporate and team-building events. Guests also have an automatic chance to join the global competitive league affiliated with Bad Axes.
World Axe Throwing League (WATL) broadcasted their World Championship on ESPN last year, and one of its Bad Axe employees was a winner.
Last year, D.C.’s first ax-throwing bar, Kraken Axes, hit a snag at its Park View home. It relocated to the opposite end of the city last summer. The Georgia Avenue is reportedly being taken over by an all-day cafe and bar.
