DC restaurant openings
Today’s the day Cava opens its doors in Rosslyn. The new restaurant from the popular Greek fast-casual chain will open at 1201 Wilson Boulevard in Arlington, and its hours will be 10:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. The 1,815-square-foot restaurant will seat 26 diners and there’s an outdoor patio too. Check it out today for the hope of a free lunch: to celebrate opening in the neighborhood, Cava will offer the first 150 guests a free meal starting at 10:45 a.m.
Summer hours
The days are longer in the summer, and Union Market’s hours are longer too. Frozen Tropics reports that starting July 12, the food hall will stay open two hours later Thursday through Sunday. That means you’ll be able to hang out until 10 p.m. on the weekends.
Kosher eats
More vegan and vegetarian restaurants are going kosher, thanks to help of new organization DC Kosher. DCist explores how DC Kosher is streamlining the process and making it less expensive too.
