Disaster report
Bethesda Magazine reports that a truck skidded on some ice and plowed into the front of the Fresh Baguette in Rockville, Maryland. Building inspectors signed off on keeping the shop open; a temporary wall has been erected pending the full reconstruction.
Expansions
Arlnow reports that international chain Nando’s is opening in Rosslyn next month. The South African-themed eatery, which already operates two other restaurants in Arlington, Virginia, is projected to begin serving its chile-spiked chicken at 1800 N. Lynn Street this March.
Developments
Shaw newcomer Unconventional Diner is now serving breakfast and lunch from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Featured offerings include gourmet pastries, avocado toast, and open-faced meatloaf sandwiches.
