A new Italian restaurant is on the way to Takoma Park, with plans to open early next year.

The new Trattoria da Lina will have seating for 55 people, according to a media alert from the Old Takoma Business Association. The restaurant is from owner Marcello Minna. It will serve a variety of pasta dishes, plus steaks, fish entrees, and more. They’ll also have a full bar. They’re planning to have a rustic design, with plenty of brick and wood touches.

The restaurant is headed to 7000 Carroll Ave. in the Maryland neighborhood. Minna, a partner in Magico (which runs Dolci Gelati Cafe in the same building), plans to staff the restaurant with a team from Italy, according to the media alert. Eater has reached out to the owner for more information and will update this post when they respond.

Takoma Park’s current Italian offerings are limited, and those options they have are pizza-centric like Roscoe’s Pizzeria.
