Former Uniontown Grill Space Could Get New Bar

Missy Frederick is the Cities Director for Eater.

Washington City Paper is following the progression of the space that formerly housed Uniontown Bar and Grill in Anacostia. Looks like the location has a new operator. From the article:

New operator Melake Gebre, working with investor Gabriele Tripodo, hopes to open the space at 2200 Martin Luther King Jr Ave. SE by midsummer as a restaurant and sports bar. Gebre, a native of Ethiopia, plans to serve American food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner at midrange prices.

The tentative name for the place is Cherry Hill Bar & Grill, and it may house live music upstairs. The new owner would like to keep the former name for the location, but liquor license technicalities would likely prohibit that. An opening could come as early as this summer.
