Jim Guichard

Jim Guichard is a Senior Distinguished Engineer and Technical Vice President for IP protocol innovation and standardization at Futurewei. He is an experienced network protocol architect with 25+ years of industry experience and is widely respected for this extensive technical expertise in Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS), IP routing, L3VPN’s, Segment Routing, and Service Chaining. He is the inventor of 200+ US & International patents, author of several books including “MPLS & VPN Architectures, volumes I & II” and “Definitive MPLS Network Designs” and has been a Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (#2069) since early 1996. He has previously held chair positions in the SFC and SPRING working groups.

Jim has previously held senior technical roles at IBM, Cisco, and Juniper Networks before joining Futurewei. In his personal time Jim enjoys running a small farm (with horses, goats, and his favorite donkey Eve), hiking, watching English football, and spending time with his family. He is based in Hollis, New Hampshire, USA.
