LANDSCAPE(s) at the Sisterhood of Crafters

 Hello my friends!

Today I have a card for the new challenge over on The Sisterhood of Crafters!

Our theme today is:

LANDSCAPE (s)

Taking the easy route on today's card, using simple designer paper,
stamp and sentiment!  VIOLA!

I did minimal coloring ... I let the background paper do all the work.

I've used paper from Make & Craft 'Happy Watercolor' (UK) designer paper.  My scenery stamp is also old ... by a company called Stamps Happen Inc - 'Lighthouse (80158)' and my sentiment is from the Sweet Poppy stamp set called 'Life is a Journey'.

I hope you'll come join in our challenge fun at The Sisterhood of Crafters!

My 'sistahs' have created some fabulous creations to help inspire you ...
be sure to pop over and check them out!

As always, thanks SO MUCH for taking the time to stop by!

Thank you for your service . . .

 Hello Friends ... Happy Monday!

and

HAPPY VETERAN'S DAY

Before sharing what I've been up to in the crafting cave, I'd like to thank all the men & women who continue to protect our country and keep us safe!  My Dad (above) was in WWII and was very proud to service his country!!  God Bless you all and thanks for your service!

If you follow my blog, you know I make tissue box covers to sell along with my cards at the annual local H.S. craft show held the first weekend in November.  I had a couple special requests since the show and thought I'd share with you.  I was asked if I had a tissue box cover featuring a Beagle dog.  Needless to say I did not but told her as long as I could find the paper, I could make one for her.  Luckily Scrapbook.com has 12x12 designer paper for a variety of dogs/cats so here's the Beagle box I came up with for her . . .

The paper is 2-sided so I bought 2 sheets.  One sheet for the actual box and the other I needed to be able to fussy cut the beagle and add him to the front of the box.

In chatting with my BFF and sharing this project with her she suggested I should do more of these for next years craft show with various dogs/cats.  (she is such an enabler lol)  There is now $100 worth of 12x12 papers sitting in my cart over at Scrapbook.com lol.

I delivered these boxes (she ordered 2) to this lady at breakfast this morning ... another lady saw it and asked if I had one with Yorkies ... oh boy ... scrapbook.com here I come!  LOL

I'm thinking I'll order papers for the most popular dogs right now and then others as time goes on.
Which breeds do you think I should order now?

Wishing you a great week ahead!
As always, thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!

Winter Birds

 Happy Sunday Friends ...

The weather sure is bouncing around here in Ohio!
One day it's nearly 80 and the next 40!  And the birds seem to be
as confused as I am lol.  With that being said, hubby was luck enough
to see the blue bird migrate through a week or so ago.  And I've
noticed more cardinals, bluejays & robins flitting about
in the backyard recently.

Anyways, I spotted the newest challenge over on Daring Cardmakers Jolly Crafty
Christmas Time 2024 theme is a
One Word Prompt ... BIRDS
.

(oops ... looks like this challenge already closed!  Hmmm)

I have a few Northwoods stamp sets that I've purchased at the annual
Adventures in Stamping Convention held here in Akron
in April.  The Snowy Cardinal Birdhouse & Snowy
Chickadee Birdhouse
is one of my favorites so that's what I used today.

Before stamping my image I sponged a panel of white cardstock using TH distress oxide ink.  Then after stamping I used Spectrum Noir PENCILS for the coloring.  I did go back over the birds with a red Tombow marker to make them brighter.  I also used a fine tip artist brush and white acrylic paint to go over the snowy areas to add texture (sorry, difficult to capture in the photo).

I can't believe Christmas is right around the corner ... time sure is flying by!
