In a fast-paced city like Dallas, restaurants come and go all the time. This July, we lost a long-standing favorite fine dining spot, a pair of places in Deep Ellum (where dining continues to churn), and we see the closure of a place in the Bishop Arts for renovations.

Jalisco Norte
This Oak Lawn Mexican restaurant, purchased in 2020 by Local Favorite hospitality group closed its doors early in the month, CultureMap Dallas reports. It was open for seven years and follows the closure of Tulum, the group’s other upscale Mexican restaurant, in May 2024.
Bisous Bisous Pâtisserie
This Uptown spot closed on October 21, after 15 years. In a Facebook post, owners Andrea and Matt Meyer explained that the decision was a result of Andrea’s bone cancer diagnosis in 2018, from which she is still recovering, and a drop in business as a result of the pandemic. They sold the business to Empire Baking Company, which will take over the space next.
On Premise
After 10 years in Deep Ellum, this bar will close on Halloween. Owner Adam Salazar tells CultureMap Dallas that he was unable to come to terms with the landlord on a new lease. It was located next to the also-closed Green Room and concert venue Trees. It was a restaurant and bar before the pandemic, but pivoted to a late-night bar model. Visit for a big blowout finale on all hallows eve.
