Lovers Lane goes Greek
Nikki Greek Bistro and Lounge, a new restaurant from Lisa and Tom Georgalis of Ivy Tavern is plotting to open early in 2024. The name comes from Nike, the Greek goddess of victory, and the menu will be made up of Greek delights as conceived by the Georgalis family and executive chef Blake Andress, who formerly worked at Mister Charles and the Mansion Restaurant. And because it’s the Ivy Tavern crew, the “lounge” part of things will be open for late-night bites.
How much do you love the Cowboys?
Cowboy Chow is set to open in the AT&T Discovery District, which has been losing restaurants like crazy over the last year. But with new boss Jerry Jones running the place now, Cowboy Chow will step in to replace Jaxon Beer Garden. The menu will shift to Western-inspired foods from Texas, Mexico, and New Mexico, according to a press release — so Mexican food? It will feature Texas-themed everything and large TVs. Look for it to open in late October.
Downtown lands a new Irish pub
If the Crafty Irishman Public House was not your bag, you now have a second option for an Irish pub downtown. Patrick Kennedy’s is open in the Westin — and in a script-flipping moment, it’s brought to you by the same folks who created the Crafty Irishman. In a press release, owner Alan Kearney expressed certainty that it will not cannibalize the customer base of his original pub. Head in for a Scotch egg, French onion soup, or fish and chips, none of which have Irish origins, but all of which are probably enjoyed by Irish people.
