El Rincon Mexican Kitchen and Tequila Bar, a Downtown Carrollton spot for solid plates of enchiladas and a multitude of margaritas, has just expanded to Frisco.
The second outpost of El Rincon debuts today at 2809 Preston Road Suite 1200, taking over the space formerly home to the Mellow Mushroom inside the Shops at Stonebriar. El Rincon’s second location boasts a colorful indoor dining area with bold printed wallpaper and bar seating, along with a covered patio stocked with plenty of brightly colored woven chairs and picnic tables. El Rincon, which means “the corner” in Spanish, draws its name from the location of its original outpost at the corner of South Elm & 4th Street in Downtown Carrollton.
At its home base, El Rincon serves up Tex-Mex favorites including nachos, flautas, fajitas, and plates of tacos stuffed with brisket, blackened fish, battered shrimp, and carnitas. Standout enchilada options include shredded a chicken and spinach variety topped with creamy poblano sauce, zucchini, and squash, and the “Rincon” with shredded chicken smothered in cream sauce which is topped with asparagus and mushrooms. Seafood doused in chipotle or adobo sauces is also on offer, as well as ribeye and carne asada steak. In addition to a solid menu of eats, El Rincon serves up tequila flights and a lengthy list of margaritas made with infused tequilas in flavors like tamarind and pineapple-serrano.
El Rincon opens today in Frisco and operates Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Friday and Saturday 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
