A Fancy Starbucks Reserve Coffee Bar Is Brewing in Uptown Dallas

Starbuck’s is poised to bring the first Texas location of its fancy, millennial-baiting cafe spinoff Starbucks Reserve to Uptown Dallas. The new coffee bar is currently under renovations in the McKinney & Olive building and is aiming for a summer opening, GuideLive first-reports.

The coffee giant unveiled its first upscale Starbucks Reserve Roastery and Tasting Room in 2014 with the goal of appealing to third-wave coffee drinkers. Last year the company confirmed plans to expand the upscale Reserve coffee bars to 1,000 Starbucks cafes. Since then, cafes have popped up everywhere from Washington D.C. to Chicago. Here in Texas, a second location is slated to join the Legacy West Urban Village development in Plano, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Unlike traditional Starbucks coffee shops, the Reserve bars offer an expanded coffee drinking experience with manual Black Eagle espresso machines, pour-overs, Chemex brewing, and nitro cold brew taps. The Uptown cafe will be a hybrid location with both traditional Starbucks menu items and specialty Starbucks Reserve beverages. Alas, beer and wine will not be available at the Dallas outpost. The Uptown Starbucks Reserve cafe is expected to open in “late June or early July.” Stay tuned.
