Armadillo Ale Works' Denton Brewhouse Faces Further Delays

It's been a nearly five years since Armadillo Ale Works announced its brick-and-mortar ambitions in Denton. Founders Bobby Mullins and Yianni Arestis seemed poised to meet their goals after receiving $30,000 in Kickstarter funding and in 2013 worked out a deal to contract brew through Deep Ellum Brewing. However, the duo let go of the partnership a year to focus on their buildout.

Now, brewing startup is facing more delays. Guide Live reports that Armadillo Ale Works is pushing back the debut of its 18,000-square-foot Denton facility from summer to fall 2016 due to issues with construction permitting. The company recently secured a 15-barrel brewing system.

While the flagship brewery is under construction, Mullins and Arestis plan to once again start releasing beers through a contract with North Texas Brewing Co. Armadillo plans to unleash a whole new lineup of recipes though they're keeping quiet about what will be produced. Armadillo's beers are expected to return to shelves by late-summer.
