Hjertelig velkommen til den danske Wikipedia, Hypuxylun!
Jeg håber, at du vil trives her.

Machine translated material

[rediger kildetekst]

Hi. Please refrain from contributing with machine translated material. It'll never be good. Regards Knud Winckelmann 12. apr 2010, 19:09 (CEST)

This still goes. Please don't contribute with machine translations. Thanks. --Medic (Lindblad) 1. okt 2010, 05:12 (CEST)
And once again: Stop contributing with automated translations! It always results in poor articles that require a lot of work from other editors. Machine translations are unwanted here!
Og tilsvarende besked på dansk, for en god ordens skyld: Stop med at bidrage med maskinoversættelser! Resultatet er altid artikler af dårlig kvalitet, og det kræver stort arbejde fra andre skribenter at rette op på dem. Maskinoversættelser er uønskede her! --Medic (Lindblad) 10. okt 2010, 02:04 (CEST)

Don't remove {{sprog}}, it's there for a reason/Slet ikke {{sprog}}, den er der af en årsag. Knud Winckelmann 28. nov 2010, 19:04 (CET)

Maskinoversættelser / Machine translations

[rediger kildetekst]

The above repeated / Ovenstående gentaget. Pugilist 6. apr 2011, 23:24 (CEST)

I have noted that you have been blocked on the Swedish and Finnish Wikipedia for the addition of machine translated texts and for ignoring several warnings. In addition I can see that similar problems occur on the Norwegian and Hungarian Wikipedias. Machine translated text is not welcome. You may be blocked in case you continue inserting machine translations on the Danish Wikipedia. Pugilist 6. apr 2011, 23:38 (CEST)

Du er blevet blokeret i 2 timer på grund af Machine translations.
Du vil ikke kunne foretage nogen redigeringer før denne blokering er udløbet. Slet ikke denne advarsel på denne side. Dette vil også blive betragtet som hærværk.

Once again

[rediger kildetekst]

Hi. Once again the need arises to repeat the message: Don't do machine translations. Please. If you are unable to contribute in Danish, maybe you should consider another venue for your efforts. It is very likely that a Wikipedia exists in your own language, where your efforts will be welcomed. Although your articles have generally improved some since the last warnings were issued, it still puts an extra burden of finishing the texts you've started onto the shoulders of other users. Hence I leave you with two simple messages:

  1. Don't contribute with any text translated by any machine. It is unwanted.
  2. Please respond to this message, so that we know you've read and understood these warnings you've been given.

I'll monitor this page henceforth, and I await your reply. Sincerely, --Medic (Lindblad) 13. dec 2011, 05:41 (CET)

You still have not responded. Your contributions are still machine translations. Hence, they have been removed. Please respond to the message above. --Medic (Lindblad) 16. jan 2012, 02:14 (CET)
Hi. I understand the fact that machine translation is not welcome. From now on, I'll really try to avoid. I'll still create articles on the Danish Wikipedia, but only if the text has been checked by a native speaker. Regards. Hypuxylun 16. jan 2012, 02:23 (CET)
Thank you. It's much appreciated. And thank you also for your reply; things tend to work much better with communication. Regards, --Medic (Lindblad) 16. jan 2012, 02:25 (CET)

Poorly translated articles

[rediger kildetekst]

Hi. Remember, no machine translations, please. Knud Winckelmann (diskussion) 15. jun 2015, 07:25 (CEST)

You know, please don't create anything more here on the Danish Wikipedia. It's clear that you don't grasp Danish and your translations are not acceptable. Knud Winckelmann (diskussion) 15. jun 2015, 09:17 (CEST)

Understood. The latest articles I have created about albums and singles were handwritten. I avoid machine translation from now on. Hypuxylun (diskussion) 15. jun 2015, 22:45 (CEST)

I'm afraid that really won't make any difference. Unless you actually are able to write Danish relatively fluently, even a manual translation is not going to cut it. Your last article was deleted due to the language. Knud Winckelmann (diskussion) 15. jun 2015, 22:50 (CEST)
The problem still exist. You should stop trying to write articles in a language that you do not master! --Arne (Amjaabc) (diskussion) 15. sep 2015, 03:17 (CEST)
I saw that you corrected the imperfections on the text, but I do not add machine translation anymore. Hypuxylun (diskussion) 15. sep 2015, 18:42 (CEST)
I believe you don't use machine translations, but when you don't speak the language, it is almost impossible to write a decent article in that language. However, I must admit, that Tour-articles like the one you wrote, mostly consist of lists and that gives rather little real text to get you in real trouble. So if you stick to this kind of articles, I would guess the cleaning up afterwards is not such a big task. Regards, Arne (Amjaabc) (diskussion) 15. sep 2015, 18:52 (CEST)
I would tend to disagree. Please do not create poorly translated articles on Wikipedias, where you don't know the language. Stick to those Wikis, where you are able to contribute without causing further work. Regards Knud Winckelmann (diskussion) 15. sep 2015, 20:01 (CEST)

Hello. A year and a half has passed, but the rules haven't changed. Entering facts is not a problem, but poorly translated text is still not welcomed. Please clean up your poor translations, and abstain from further edits with poor translations, as you promised above. Regards, --Medic (Lindblad) (diskussion) 30. mar 2016, 00:27 (CEST)

OK, no problem. Just tell me the articles that need to be corrected. Hypuxylun (diskussion) 30. mar 2016, 00:31 (CEST)

I reacted specifically to your latest edit, but the message is the important thing here. Facts are fine, but please abstain from prose, unless you're helped by someone fluent. Hence, if you fix (remove) the prose in your last edit, I have no problem with you leaving the relevant facts intact. Regards, --Medic (Lindblad) (diskussion) 30. mar 2016, 00:44 (CEST)
...as well as the prose in the edit you've made while we were having this discussion, of course. --Medic (Lindblad) (diskussion) 30. mar 2016, 00:47 (CEST)
I've glanced back through some of your other recent edits, and I can see that there are several among them that are problematic - Kylie Christmas and Kiss Me Once are still quite flawed. On the latter you've even altered the template {{dåsedansk}} yourself, a template that is specifically deigned to flag poorly translated articles. I'm finding it a little difficult to believe that you intend to keep your promise of abstaining from contributing in poor danish... can you explain to me that my fears are unfounded? --Medic (Lindblad) (diskussion) 30. mar 2016, 01:04 (CEST)

I edited some time ago the article Kiss Me Once by correcting or removing forms and sentences that I found weird after I read again the text. When I created Kylie Christmas, I wrote it myself and did not use any machine translation. I understand that my Danish is not perfect, but I try to do my best by creating articles with the best possible text. Regards. --- Hypuxylun (diskussion) 30. mar 2016, 23:15 (CEST)

And this is exactly what we've debated before. Your additions of facts and data is greatly appreciated, but your incorrect Danish text places a burden of work on your fellow editors that is unfair. In January 2012 you promised to stop writing danish text unless it was checked beforehand by someone fluent in the language; now I ask you again if you intend to keep that promise? --Medic (Lindblad) (diskussion) 31. mar 2016, 00:33 (CEST)

Yes, I will contribute like that from now on. The only thing is that I must find some native speakers who will be able to correct my text if I plan on adding some on the articles. Thank you for your understanding. --- Hypuxylun (diskussion) 31. mar 2016, 00:56 (CEST)
I simply don't understand why you insist on contributing on a language that you do not master. Why not simply leave the work to us Danish-speaking people? You only achieve irritation from this community. --Arne (Amjaabc) (diskussion) 31. mar 2016, 08:56 (CEST)

I pretty much agree with Arne on this one - except for the data you provide, which require no translation. I personally welcome such edits from you, but I'd prefer you limit yourself to that. Thank you for your reply; I look forward to seeing you live up to your promise. Regards, --Medic (Lindblad) (diskussion) 31. mar 2016, 19:46 (CEST)
...aaand yet, in spite of your promises, you've made two edits this night (this one and this one) which are the exact opposite of what you've repeatedly promised: they are edits that contain more than just data, in which there are whole blocks of flawed text which other editors now need to spend time correcting - time that could have been better spent elsewhere. I'm thus asking you one final time to explain to me how these actions can be interpreted as you keeping your repeated promise? I ask this of you as a final attempt at finding an acceptable solution through conversation. If you do not explain this to our satisfaction, and if you do not change your ways, the most probable outcome will be immediate roll-backs of your future edits, as this is far preferable to having to scan through every word you've written, finding and correcting the errors. So, very simply put: Are you going to accept this last offer of keeping to your promise? Will you stop contributing text immediately, and limit yourself to updating facts such as numbers and dates? --Medic (Lindblad) (diskussion) 1. apr 2016, 09:17 (CEST)

I will and this time I swear. For the article Daniel (sang), I have not edited the text but have added references. For the article "Crocodile Rock", I have edited a fact in a sentence. For both of them, I have added a section with the members and the instruments. I swear that I have not added any other sentences on both articles. Thank you for understanding. Regards. --- Hypuxylun (diskussion) 1. apr 2016, 19:50 (CEST)

Here we go again: You still insist on writing in a language that you do not master - now we have to go through every Elton John-album to correct all of the poor language; so annoying. I guess you are an Elton John-fan, but what is the reason for wish to "improve" the articles about him on languages other than your mother tongue (whatever that might be)? I strongly urge you to stop writing prose in Danish articles. --Arne (Amjaabc) (diskussion) 17. okt 2017, 09:22 (CEST)

Yes, I am a fan of Elton John. I add further information but I don't add machine translation anymore. Regards. --- Hypuxylun (diskussion) 17. okt 2017, 19:15 (CEST)
