Hello, ladies and gentlemen. I'm pleased to inform you all that our beloved Angel of the Resistance, Nana Mizuki, has recovered from COVID and has gone back to work.
Let's all take a moment to celebrate our beloved Nana's victory and hope that she can grace us with her talent for many years to come.
Just Updated
Hello, ladies and gentlemen. I'm Leader Vladimir and I hate being the bearer of bad news but Anime News Network has reported that Nana Mizuki, the Japanese VA for our beloved warrior princess, has been infected by fucking COVID.
Let's face it. COVID sucks. Alongside AIDS and cancer, COVID has become one of the deadliest diseases known to humankind. Hopefully, our badass VA Nana will win this fight and return to do what she does best.

Happy birthday to such a fine and talented VA! Thank you for all your marvelous work throughout the years and I hope you keep doing what you do best!
Well, most of the other men watching will probably feel the opposite way of me
But why does this show have to be so sexualized?
Contrast Ikki Tousen. It's supposed to be sexualized, and it doesn't have a whole lot of plot to it. (and for those familiar with the pony fandom, I never use the word "plot" in THAT context) I only even watched it on a challenge to ignore that stuff for the fights and the story, and was rewarded with a spectacular rainbowfied death for Sousou.
But here, Cross Ange has a solid story to it and could have easily done without all the sexual scenes and references. I imagine a lot of people not on this site were repelled by them and would have greatly enjoyed it otherwise.
Another example is Spartacus, which also has a story to it and could have done without the excessive nudity. (Though Cross Ange at least is nowhere near as explicit as it or Ikki Tousen)
They put these kinds of scenes in shows assuming that everyone watching them will be into them, even though a lot of us aren't watching them for them and some of us dislike them. For instance, I like slasher films. That being said, I don't watch Friday the 13th for the nudity, I watch it for the violence.
Compared to this, people have no right fussing about the Winx's midriff tops, which are meant to be cute more than anything. Hell, after I was done Ikki Tousen I even watched Winx Club specifically to get the "ecchi anime" taste out of my mouth. Though again, the rainbowfied villain death felt worth the price of admission. At least Cross Ange wasn't nearly as bad there.
I know a lot of people here probably like that kind of content, some probably even watched Cross Ange FOR it, and I'm not judging you for it. But does anyone else here wish they'd have kept it a little cleaner? Even just toned it down a bit? (Like Game of Thrones takes that kind of stuff in moderation and keeps it relevant) I wish they'd at least made the combat suits a full jumpsuit like Zero Suit Samus. That might have at least made the other sexual references more tolerable. Again, Cross Ange had a really great story to it that would have probably been more popular if it wasn't sexualized so.

As we'll be treating the direct manga adaptation of the television series as separate, we'll give their character and mecha separate pages, too.
We'll also be treating the Cross Ange - Tenshi to Ryuu no Gakuen manga, which is a clearly different continuity as separate.
I have to ask a question because a normal man or woman even healthy would have a very tough time doing this without exhausting himself to death or having a cardiac arrest.
Surprised to find this today:
