Wikimedia Commons does not accept derivative works of non-free works such as File:Voice of Korea logo.svg. It only accepts free content, which is images and other media files that can be used by anyone, for any purpose. Reproductions of copyrighted works are also subject to the same copyright, and therefore this file must unfortunately be considered non-free. For more information, please read Commons:Derivative works and Commons:Freedom of panorama. You can ask questions about Commons policies in Commons:Help desk.
The file you added has been deleted. If you believe that this file was not a derivative work of a non-free work, you may request undeletion.

File:Bud Spencer graffiti.jpg has been listed at Commons:Deletion requests so that the community can discuss whether it should be kept or not. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry.
If you created this file, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for deletion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it, such as a copyright issue. Please see Commons:But it's my own work! for a guide on how to address these issues. |

For your information
[edit]Many of those files appear to be above ToO in North Korea, but below ToO in USA. While such files are not allowed on Commons (where the image must be PD in both the country of origin and in USA), they can be (sometimes) uploaded to (the English) Wikipedia. There are three tiers of files like this in Wikipedia:
- Fully non-free in that they are not PD in either the country of origin or USA: en:WP:NFC
- PD in the country of origin but non-free in USA (concerns mostly old photos): en:Template:Possibly non-free in US
- Non-free in the country of origin but PD in USA: en:Template:Do not move to Commons with
|reason=USonly
Of these, the last one gives you room to maneuver: you can use the image in any way you like on the English Wikipedia (without being bound by en:WP:NFCC) and the only restriction is that it cannot be uploaded to Commons or any other language Wikipedia. It might very well be that many North Korean logos fall under this license. You can see how I have employed it here: en:File:On the Art of the Cinema cover.jpg. As far as I know, you can even use this with SVG files you have made, given that you indicate that you release the SVG code under some free license.
I do not think that anyone wants you to stop contributing. But Commons is very restrictive for very good reasons. Uploading files locally to the English Wikipedia allows you more leverage. In particular, the PD in USA only licensing option can be useful when dealing with uncertainty of ToO with foreign copyright laws. I hope this helps. There is not much that I can do about photographs being deleted, however. You need to prove (rather than guess) when they were first published and whether they were published anonymously, as a work of an organization, or with the photographer's name (in which case you also need to prove the date of death of the author). Naturally, most of this information is not available to us from North Korea. Finnusertop (talk) 17:12, 21 October 2016 (UTC)
Hi Oppashi! I closed the mega DR about the 3 North Korean logos to avoid more clutter there. I kept 2 logos as they are (IMHO) PD-North-Korea. The Anti-Imperialist National Democratic Front Logo doesn't seem to fit the bill. I checked on the website http://www.aindf.com/ and the logo is similar, but far from the same. Can you help me out? --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 11:45, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Hedwig in Washington: Hi! Now hold on for a second, I just checked out the website and trust me, the logo - even their name! - changed recently. It's new name is 구국전선 which means National Salvation Front. I'm kind of confused now. We should rename the article as well right? (I will create and upload their new logo if you permit me to do so.) Oppashi talk 15:22, 9 November 2016 (UTC)
- Holding..... I can't read Korean. I don't know about what the wikis want to do, sorry. Do we have an archived version of the old logo we can use as an additional source? Could you have a peek on the web, please? --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 05:22, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Hedwig in Washington: Hi! Take a look at this and this Oppashi talk 08:02, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
- OK, noticed. Strange things happening over there. :-) You know what, I undelete the logo and you get the new colors started. Please. Pretty please? --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 21:53, 10 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Hedwig in Washington: Hi. Take a look at it. Oppashi talk 09:34, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
- I think the color gradient makes it above TOO. What do you think? --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 23:16, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
- @Hedwig in Washington: How about now? Oppashi talk 23:38, 12 November 2016 (UTC)
- ok, as long as you are happy --Hedwig in Washington (mail?) 23:13, 13 November 2016 (UTC)

:) Bzmrk (talk) 21:20, 7 August 2022 (UTC) |
