ANIMAL INSTINCT: Couple caught having 'loud sex' on elephant sculpture

The elephant in the room didn’t stop this couple from having “loud sex.”

In fact, it seems to have encouraged an exhibitionist couple that was caught doing the deed on an elephant sculpture ahead of Art Basel in Miami Beach.

The annual art fair kicks off on Dec. 6, but a couple couldn’t wait to celebrate in their own way.

In a story exclusive to the New York Post’s Page Six, a source said the pair were caught fornicating atop an enormous pachyderm set up on South Beach as part of an installation called the Great Elephant Migration.

The source told the publication that “a security guard heard strange noises and went over with his flashlight to investigate. Apparently, he saw a couple on top of one of the big elephants! We do not know how they got up there.”

The herd is made up of families of elephants, including babies, adolescents, and full-size adults.

The randy couple avoided being cuffed by the cops thanks to a sympathetic guard.

“He simply asked them to leave, no arrests were made,” the insider told the Post.

The artwork was seemingly quite popular. A source told the Post that an unidentified rapper, rumoured to be affiliated with DJ Khalid, was seen attempting to film a music video amid the installation at 4 a.m. and was told to move along.

Extra security had since been assigned to the sculpture.

The work was last seen in New York City’s Meatpacking District.

The elephants are fashioned from a repurposed invasive weed called Lantana camara by a community of 200 artisans called “The Real Elephant Collective,” living within India’s Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve in Southern India.

The sculptures are for sale for around $28,000, and benefit the artists and various wildlife NGOs.
