Caillou is a Clown is an episode in Season 1. This episode aired on March 4, 1998.
Plot[]
It is the day of the big parade. Caillou wants to go and he has his toy horn to bring with him to the parade. Rosie is excited and wants to go until Caillou says there will be clowns, because Rosie is afraid of clowns and she begins to cry. Mommy doesn't think it is such a good idea to go due to Rosie suffering from coulrophobia (the fear of clowns), which makes Caillou upset and angry until Mommy reminds him how he used to be scared of clowns when he was Rosie's age, and this inspires Caillou to try and help Rosie conquer her fear. Caillou tries to show Rosie a clown doll, but she just cries. Caillou suggests that he could cover Rosie's eyes when the clowns come by but Mommy has an even better idea. In the parents' bedroom, she has some clown clothes and when she dresses Caillou up as a clown, Rosie is much less afraid of them as she learns that clowns are just regular people in clown clothes, and so she decides to dress up as one as well, and then they are all able to go to the parade. Gilbert stays home fooling with the yarn Caillou used as a clown wig in the living room.
