Caillou: Rosie the Giant is the first 45-minute special of the 2024 3D animated reboot by Wildbrain. It first premiered on Family Jr. in Canada at 5pm EDT, along with exclusively streaming on Peacock in the United States, both countries on July 10, 2022.
Premise[]
After Rosie unknowingly bullies Caillou, he embarks on an imagination adventure of epic proportions: confronting a Giant who shows up at an important car race and causes chaos. Caillou ultimately learns that bullies have feelings too, and with the help of a trusted adult and a little courage, he can take a stand against bullying behavior.
Plot[]
SPOILER WARNING!
Leo and Clementine invites Caillou to play race cars with them at the park, in which Daddy accepts, but as Rosie doesn't have a toy car, she can't play but Caillou lets her come along. When Leo, Clementine and Caillou play race cars, Rosie then interrupts their race. Caillou tells her no, but a few seconds later, Rosie comes back and breaks a piece of the track. When Caillou is bothered by Rosie, his father calms him down with a story about the Red Racer and the Giant (the Red Racer is resembled as Caillou and the Giant looks like Rosie).
The Giant gets in the way of the Red Racer's race track, and will not listen to the Red Racer's concern and disappointment, due to being too small to be heard. When the story is paused, Caillou then offers Rosie to play with his stuffed dinosaur. The 3 friends then play around the playground other than the track. When Caillou slides his race car, Rosie then grabs it and Caillou struggles to get his toy car back.
When Daddy continues to tell Caillou the story of the Red Racer, the red racer accidentally runs into the Giant's foot, and that does not make the Giant happy, in which she stomps around and throws a tantrum. When Caillou understands, Rosie then gets furious and destroys the race track and takes everyone's cars. Caillou is then upset and distraught by this and they both go home.
When Daddy talks to Caillou in his room, his Red Racer story continues, in which, after being taken away from the track by the Giant, the Red Racer tries to help make things right by apologizing for bumping into the Giant's foot and tells the Giant the damage she has done, they work to make things right by fixing the track, and helping make the track raceable again. Along with this, the Giant gets to announce things in the PA system and the Red Racer wins,
After hearing his father's advice, Caillou then apologizes to Rosie and offers to play racers with him, and they play. After Leo and Clementine come back, Caillou and Rosie take turns playing with the red race car.
