Caillou's Top Bunk is an episode from Season 2 of Caillou.
Plot[]
The episode starts out with Mommy walking Caillou and Rosie to Grandma's house. (Mommy and Daddy are going on vacation for a week. So Caillou and Rosie and staying over at their grandparents's house.) Rosie wants to ring the doorbell but Caillou tells her she's too little so he does it. So Grandma opens the door and gives both Caillou and Rosie a hug. So then Caillou and Rosie gives them goodbye kisses and leaves. So Caillou runs upstairs and sees his bed is no longer in the room. Even though the room Caillou sees used to be his own room --when he used to sleep over at his grandparents's house-- the room (he used to have at his grandparents's house) is Grandma's sewing room now. Now he is sharing a room with Rosie. But Caillou complains saying he doesn't want to but then Grandma tells him he'll change his mind once he sees Grandpa's surprise. So once they get inside Grandpa hammers a ladder step and to Caillou's surprise it's a bunk bed and he says he wants to top but Rosie wants it. But Grandpa and Grandma tell her that it's too high for her so she'll have to sleep on the bottom. Meanwhile at night time Caillou and Rosie get up on the bunk bed. But as soon as Grandma shuts off the light, Caillou gets worried seeing down below on the top bunk. He accidentally drops Teddy in the process which wakes Rosie. He tells her to get Teddy for him. Rosie gets scared to climb up there to give him to Caillou. So then, Caillou climbs down to get him instead. But Caillou now feels scared to go back up. So Caillou decides to sleep with Rosie on the bottom. The next morning Grandma and Grandpa come in to tell Caillou and Rosie good morning and why they are sleeping together on the bottom bunk. Then Caillou tells them that Teddy got scared (and so did he --Caillou-- himself). Caillou was way too scared to climb the top bunk. (He says, "Teddy was too scared".) So he, Teddy, and Rosie all slept at the bottom bunk. Grandma and Grandpa laugh and then Caillou hugs Teddy and the episode ends.
Trivia[]
- Daddy is seen the car in the beginning of the episode too.
- In real life, four years old is too young to sleep on the top bunk. One has to be six years old or older for it to be safe.
- Also, another problem with the top bunk is that the side opposite the wall doesn't have a guardrail, which explains why Teddy fell off. In real life, both sides of any top bunk bed are supposed to have guardrails so that anyone sleeping up top doesn't fall off when rolling.
- When both children want the top bunk, it would also be a problem because any two or more people would get trapped there.
