About this exhibition

This exhibition at the Robert B. Haas Family Arts Library underscores the significance of the Yale Center for British Art’s building, the last design by architect Louis I. Kahn (1901–1974). The display features photographs, letters, sketches, and other archival materials from Yale’s repositories and was curated by Jessica Quagliaroli, formerly Chief Archivist, Yale Center for British Art, and Kathy Winsor Bohlman, Architecture Records Archivist, Haas Family Arts Library Special Collections. The exhibition title comes from project notes by lighting designer Richard Kelly (1910–1977)—on view in the show.
