The team behind the Moody’s mini-empire in Waltham plans to open a new restaurant in October. (See October 24 update below for opening date, hours, and menu.) Pollo Club will occupy the space left vacant when Moody’s closed its taco shop, El Rincon De Moody’s (465 Moody St., Waltham), in January 2019.
Pollo Club will feature fried chicken, along with a list of vegetarian options, according to a press release from a representative for Moody’s. Pollo Club has a liquor license, and it will offer an extensive rosé list, along with craft beers and cocktails.
After closing El Rincon De Moody’s last winter, the Moody’s team posted on Facebook that it would see customers soon. Months later, and with a different focus, the Moody’s team is keeping its word by opening another restaurant in the space. Sure, it’s not a taqueria this time. But fried chicken is pretty good, too.
The Pollo Club is adjacent to the deli and the Backroom at Moody’s (468 Moody St.), which returned in May after a brief hiatus and a change in management.
Update, October 24, 2019: Pollo Club opens tonight (although the team is considering Tuesday, October 29, to be the grand opening), and it’ll serve dinner starting at 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. (Takeout will eventually be available — but not quite yet.)
