The folks behind a popular Milton restaurant will bring its culinary prowess within the city limits: Brendan Joy and members of the Steel & Rye team have plans to open a new restaurant in Brookline’s Coolidge Corner called Prairie Fire, which will offer up a selection of wood-fired dishes and more, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.
Prairie Fire is currently hiring back-of-house positions, according to a posting on BostonChefs.com. The post indicates that the restaurant will serve “simple yet thoughtful food,” with a seasonal focus and an emphasis on “fermenting, brining, and cooking with fire.” Potential menu items include wood-fired pizza, shellfish, and charred vegetables, and the team is apparently aiming for an opening this spring.
Steel & Rye is known for its traditional methods, locally sourced ingredients, and New American cuisine. Eater has reached out for more details and will share any new information as it is made available.
Update, 3/9/17: Prairie Fire will be opening at 242 Harvard St., the former Lineage space, this spring, according to Boston Magazine.
