Construction on a renovated restaurant space in Hyde Park appears to be nearing completion, according to Universal Hub. The forthcoming Antonio's Bacaro, from two-thirds of the Sophia's Grotto team in Roslindale, now has art and lights hung up in the space, a tipster told Eater, and the restaurant could soon be serving up piles of Italian food.

Sonia and Joe Garufi have been working on the Bacaro for more than a year, with plans to offer a full bar and small Italian plates and entrees. They took over the space at 5 Fairmount Ave., where The Hyde and Dottie's Delicatessen used to call home.

As Universal Hub reported, a contractor at Antonio's Bacaro said the place could open in the next two or three weeks, with all the usual restaurant permitting timelines allowing. Initial plans for the place included tin ceilings and 50 seats inside, plus a "hidden wine garden patio."
