WIPocalypse for May 2020

I have done a bit of stitching this month, but first let us discuss Melissa's Question of the Month:

The piece I really loved stitching recently is my Inchies project by Kathy Reese:
I have to hand out the kits to my guild members and then I will see how I will teach them the piece. It was a fun project and very fast.
1. MH 1656, My Beloved
Here she is unrolled
I have since done a little bit on the next band:
7. Autumnal Abstractions by Joni Stevenson
I have brought this piece out to stitch it with my friend:
I have stitched most of the first section.
12. Inchies is done and I posted it above.
13. Agnus Dei by Modern Folk Embroidery
I am working on the bottom page. Lots of fun, but not much progress
16. Linen And Threads Mystery SAL 2020
I have finished May and ready to start June.

I did manage to finish the background on the pumpkin canvas that my friend gave me. I just need to figure out how to fully finish this:

Memorial Day

I had to look back into my posts to see when I started Uncle Sam's Hat.  It looks like I started it June 2018 and I thought I would have it done by the 4th of July. Ha!
I finally got it stitched on September 30, 2019 or that is the note I had...Could be wrong.

I finally forced myself to finish the silly thing. I could not find my notes of finishing it. (Probably buried in the mess I call my craft room.) But I followed Vonna's Drum tutorial and managed a finish:
Not perfect, but I'm glad I can display this now.

A Little Montenegrin Stitch!

I am so excited! I was working on MH 1656 and discovered I placed the Montenegrin stitch in the wrong spot! I could not fudge...
 Out it came!!!

I spent last night listening to FiberTalk and a book on tape. While listening I managed to get this much stitched:
This is very complicated. I have a bunch more to put in and it feel like I will never get done.  But I will keep plugging away because it is gorgeous.

IHSW Post

I managed to get some stitching done this weekend.
I am still struggling with the Montenegrin stitch on My Beloved. Because it is gardening season, I don't have a ton of time. And this stitch takes a lot of time and brainpower. I may have to put it away until I have the energy and time to work on it.
I have pulled out Agnus Dei as my go to piece when I don't feel like thinking. The little x's are making me happy.

Gifted Gorgeousness in May

I almost forgot this wonderful SAL hosted by Jo . You are supposed to post about anything that falls under the category of a gift. Well, I have some things to share!
First, here is the second mask my friend sent me so I could embroider and put together:

It was fun to embellish them. I could have done more, but so many projects and so little time!!!
My daughter wanted to make a new hot pack with an old sock, but after she started filling it she realized it needed mending. So here was my gift to her:
It is a lovely day and I need to see how my garden is doing. Hopefully not too many weeds! Hope everyone is doing well and getting some stitching time!

I'll Try Again This Month

It is International Hermit and Stitch Weekend. I think it is hosted by Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching .
It is the third weekend of the month and the idea is to stitch as much as possible over the weekend.
I plan on working on MH 1656 although the Montenegrin stitch is still giving me fits. Yes, I have the Amy Mitten book which is very helpful, but I am still struggling.
I also need to finish another mask. My friend Cheryl gave me blanks and shared instructions to make this.
I have another one to assemble. She is such a good friend.

My Beloved Progress

I am stuck on the Montenegrin stitch. I can do it horizontally but the next section  is stumping me...
I did a little practice piece but am still struggling. I will work on it some more when I have some quiet time.

A Little Mindless Stitching

I am working on a lot of different projects, but over Mother's Day I decided to just stitch little x's..

The first photo is where I started and the last is when I finished. I may try to work on this piece a little more frequently.  I haven't decided whether to stitch the bits that go in the diamonds to the left, but I do know I need to fix that section. I missed a tiny little x in each of the last rows next to the vertical row.
Modern Folk Embroidery has a better image of this piece on their site here

#the100dayproject Day 25

I am still working on this project. I like it, but have realized that I may have an issue...
Here is my project one quarter of the way done...
Here is my issue: This is about half of the background fabric. Can I get 75 more hearts on this piece? Remember, this is just half of the ground fabric...I will try, but if I can't I have a plan B.
