The visual effects of ‘Dune: Part Two’

November 18, 2024

An exclusive interview with visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert.

Today on the podcast we’re talking about Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two with visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert.

Now, the first thing you should also know is that Paul is part of the full issue of befores & afters magazine in print covering the film.

The wrap-around cover in the latest print magazine, covering Dune: Part Two.

He’s featured along with a number of other effects crew members, including special effects supervisor Gerd Nefzer, second unit visual effects supervisor Patrick Heinen from Wylie Co., and Rhys Salcombe and Stephen James, VFX supervisors from DNEG.

In this chat with Paul, we go through the big visual effects scenes in the film, including the opening eclipse moments, the sandworm riding, the attack on the spice harvester, how Giedi Prime was made, the battle of Arrakis, and how the Fremen’s blue eyes were achieved. This is a really fun and informative chat and I hope you might also grab the magazine as well to get the even fuller picture.
