William B. "Bill" Acree was a circuit court judge for the Twenty-Seventh Circuit Court, which presides over Obion and Weakley counties in Tennessee. He joined the court in 1994 and was most recently re-elected in 2006 without opposition.[1][2] Acree announced on September 10, 2012, that he would not be seeking re-election again, and retired at the end of his term on August 31, 2014.[3]
He was appointed by the Tennessee Supreme Court to serve as a senior judge, filling in for judges across the state. His term as a senior judge was from November 2, 2015, to November 2, 2017.[4]
Education
Acree received both his undergraduate and J.D. degrees from the University of Tennessee in 1966 and 1968, respectively.[1]
Career
Acree worked as an attorney with the law firm of Elam, Glasson & Acree from 1970 until his election to the Twenty-Seventh Circuit Court in 1994.[1]
