Tracey Yokich is a judge for the 16th Circuit Court in Macomb County, Michigan. She was elected to this position on November 2, 2004 and took office the following January 1st.[1][2] Her term ended on January 1, 2019.[3]
Education
Yokich received her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University - James Madison College in 1982 and her J.D. degree from the University of Detroit School of Law in 1985.[4]
Career
Yokich began her career in 1986 as a law clerk for Judge George Clifton Edwards, Jr. of the U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. She became an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of Macomb County later that year. She then served as Assistant Corporation Counsel for that county in 1989 and 1990. From 1991 to 1996, she served in the Michigan House of Representatives, representing Eastpointe, St. Clair Shores, Lake Township and Harrison Township. She returned to the Macomb County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney in 1997. On July 1, 2003, former Governor Granholm appointed her to the Macomb County Probate Court, where she served until she was elected to the circuit court in 2004.[4]
2012 election
Yokich was re-elected after running unopposed in 2012.[5]
