Tom Carlson (b. New York) is an at-large representative on the Marana Unified School District Governing Board in Arizona. He was first elected to the office on November 2, 2010. He was re-appointed to retain his seat for a second term on September 2, 2014, following the cancellation of the general election due to a lack of opposition.
Biography
Carlson moved to Arizona from New York in 1985. He earned a B.S. in mechanical engineering from University of Arizona in 1988. He later earned an M.S. in industrial engineering from Texas A&M. Following his graduation from that program, he worked at the Aberdeen Proving Ground in Maryland. He earned an MBA with a concentration in finance during that time from the University of Maryland. In 2000, he began working for Booz Allen Hamilton, a management consulting firm.[1]
Carlson and his family moved back to Tucson, Arizona in 2006, and he began working for Raytheon Missile Systems. Carlson is an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Elections
2014
The 2014 election was canceled as incumbents Carlson and John Lewandowski ran unopposed to retain their at-large seats. They were both appointed to retain their seats by the Pima County Board of Supervisors on September 2, 2014, following the recommendation of the Pima County Superintendent of Schools' recommendation.[2][3][4]

Carlson reported no contributions or expenditures to the Pima County Elections Department.[5]
