Thomas J. Rastetter is the Position 10 judge on the Clackamas County Circuit Court in Oregon. The court has jurisdiction over Clackamas County and is located within the 5th Judicial District. He also presides over the Beaverton Municipal Court, Happy Valley Municipal Court and the Gladstone Municipal Court.[1]
Rastetter joined the court in 2003. He won re-election without opposition in the primary election on May 17, 2016.[2]

Selection method

Judges of the Oregon Supreme Court, Oregon Court of Appeals and Oregon Circuit Courts are all selected in an identical manner. They are chosen in nonpartisan elections to serve six-year terms, after which they must run for re-election if they wish to continue serving.[3]
The chief judges of the circuit courts are appointed by the chief justice of the state supreme court to serve a two-year term.[3]
Qualifications
To serve on the circuit court, a judge must be:[3]
- a U.S. citizen;
- a state resident for at least three years;
- a resident of his or her circuit for at least one year;
- a state bar member; and
- under the age of 75.
2010

Rastetter was re-elected to the Clackamas County Circuit Court in 2010 after running unopposed. He won with 98.94 percent of the vote.[4]
Education
Rastetter earned his B.A. in government and English from the College of William & Mary in 1978. He earned his J.D. from Lewis and Clark College in 1984.[5][6]
