Patricia D. Wise is a judge for the 5th Chancery District of Mississippi. She was first elected to the court in 1989.[1][2] She was re-elected on November 4, 2014, for a term that begins in 2015 and will expire in 2018.[3][4]

Education
Wise received a B.A. from the University of Mississippi, going on to earn her J.D. there as well. She was admitted to the bar in 1984.[5]
Career
Prior to her judicial election in 1989, Wise was a managing attorney and partner in the law firm of Dockins & Wise, Attorneys at Law in Jackson. She specialized in the areas of domestic relations, personal injury and general civil practice.[1]
Approach to the law
Prior to the 2006 election, Wise said to Jackson Free Press,
“ | It's easy for someone to stand from the outside and look in with criticism, but domestic cases are heart wrenching and complex. You can't run them through the mill. You can't just stand up and say, 'You get the kids, you get the dog and you get the cat.'[6][7] | ” |
