Michael Coblenz was a 2016 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 6th Congressional District of Kentucky. He withdrew from the race on March 16, 2016.[1]

Coblenz was a Democratic candidate for the United States House of Representatives in the 2014 elections. He failed to officially file before the January 28, 2014, filing deadline.[2][3]

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as safely Republican. Incumbent Andy Barr (R) won re-election to his third term, defeating challenger Nancy Jo Kemper (D) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Barr defeated Roger Brill in the Republican primary, while Kemper defeated Geoff Young to win the Democratic nomination. The primary elections took place on May 17, 2016.[1][4]
