Judith Billings

Judith M. Billings was a judge on the Utah Court of Appeals. She joined the court in 1987[1] and retired on December 31, 2008.[2]

Education

Judge Billings received her B.A. degree in English from the University of Utah in 1965, her J.D. degree from the University of Utah School of Law in 1977, and her L.L.M. degree from the University of Virginia Law School in 1990.[1]

Career

Judge Billings began her legal career in 1976 as a trial lawyer (and later a partner) of the law firm Ray, Quinney & Nebeker. She worked for this firm until 1982, practicing in the areas of commercial, banking, corporate, employment, construction, products liability, securities and insurance. From 1981 to 1986, she worked as a district court judge in the 3rd Judicial District. She took office on the Court of Appeals in 1987, the year it was created.[1]
