Joel M. Goldberg is an acting justice of the Kings County Supreme Court, Criminal Term in the 2nd Judicial District of New York. He was appointed to this position in 1992. He has also served on the New York City Criminal Court since 1987. He was reappointed to this position in 2012.

Education

Goldberg received his B.A. degree from Brown University in 1967 and his J.D. degree from the New York University School of Law in 1970.

Career

Goldberg began his career in 1971 as an Assistant Kings County District Attorney. He worked in this capacity until 1987. He also became First Deputy Chief of the Appeals Bureau in 1978. He then served as First Deputy Chief of the Supreme Court Bureau from 1982 to 1985 and as Deputy Chief Assistant from 1985 to 1987.

Goldberg began his judicial career in 1987 when he was appointed to the New York City Criminal Court. Since 1992, he has also served as an Acting Supreme Court Justice.
