Dennis B. Leiber is a judge for the 17th Circuit Court (Civil/Criminal Division) in Kent County, Michigan. He has served in this position since January 1, 1989, following his election in 1988.[1][2] He was re-elected to consecutive terms in 1994, 2000, 2006 and 2012. His current six-year term ends on January 1, 2019.[3]
Education
Leiber graduated from Aquinas College in 1969—with a double major in political science and history—before receiving his J.D. degree from Wayne State University Law School in 1972.[2]
Career
Leiber began his career in 1973 as an assistant city attorney for Grand Rapids, MI. He then worked as a sole practitioner from 1975 to 1977 and as an assistant Kent County prosecutor from 1977 to 1988. He then joined the circuit court bench in 1989.[2]
2012 election
Leiber was re-elected after running unopposed in 2012.[4] [5]
